What you want to do with voice#

This workflow lets you practise a short explanation and get a summary to review. You need a microphone, a quiet environment and an available voice feature in your account. Headphones help if speaker output feeds back into the microphone.

Dictation turns your speech into text for a request. Voice conversation also provides spoken replies. A microphone on the system keyboard is therefore not proof that you are using Grok’s voice mode.

Start with a short test#

  1. Find the available voice-conversation option in the app. Read its name and description; a Voice API tutorial is not a mobile chat tutorial.
  2. When prompted by the operating system, allow microphone access only for the app you intend to use.
  3. Say one short sentence. First check that the app hears you and you can hear the response.
  4. State the language and goal. Ask for important names, dates and numbers to be repeated.
I want to practise explaining my idea in English. Ask one question at a time and wait for my answer. Check with me if you do not understand a word or number. After three questions, provide a short written summary without adding facts.

How to test Slovak#

Check speech recognition, meaning and spoken pronunciation separately. Good pronunciation does not establish that the app captured your name correctly.

Reply in Slovak. Repeat these details, then write them down: the meeting is on Thursday at 14:30, the name is Ľubomír, and the amount is 47 euros. Ask if you are unsure.

Compare the day, time, name and amount. If Slovak repeatedly changes to another language, specify the language in text too, shorten the test and reduce background noise. If accuracy matters and the test fails, continue in text. This advice does not confirm Slovak support; it remains separately unverified.

Correct understanding and finish the conversation#

Correction: I said fifteen, not fifty. Change only that detail. At the end, list confirmed facts, open questions and the next action.

Before ending, request a written result and compare it with what you actually said. End the voice session with the available control and check that the microphone indicator turns off. Save the result after reviewing it.

If Grok cannot hear you, check system microphone permissions and the selected input. If you cannot hear the reply, check volume and Bluetooth output. If the connection is slow, try a short text message to distinguish microphone problems from network problems. Read privacy and sharing before discussing private information.
